Manufacturing range

One supplier for every gasket type in the plant

Twelve gasket families, produced under one quality system in Ahmedabad, so a refinery, chemical plant or power station can standardise on a single source.

Most sealing failures in process plant are specification failures, not manufacturing failures. The gasket is dimensionally correct but the filler is wrong for the medium, the winding metal is not rated for the chloride content, or the available bolt load cannot develop the seating stress the construction needs. Because we manufacture semi-metallic, metallic and soft gaskets in-house, we are not pushed toward whichever construction happens to be on the shelf.

The semi-metallic range covers spiral wound gaskets with graphite, PTFE and CNAF windings, and kammprofile gaskets for joints that cycle thermally or are opened frequently. The metallic range covers ring type joints in oval, octagonal, RX and BX profiles, grooved solid metal gaskets, corrugated metal gaskets for large-diameter low-load flanges, and metal jacketed gaskets for heat exchangers. The soft range covers PTFE and expanded PTFE sheet cut gaskets, EPDM and rubber, CNAF compressed fibre, envelope gaskets and flat cut gaskets in any sheet material.

Dimensional work follows ASME B16.20 for semi-metallic and metallic gaskets and ASME B16.21 for non-metallic flat gaskets, with API 6A applied to ring joints in wellhead service. Every order is inspected against those standards and released with a Material Test Report, which is what makes the part acceptable in oil and gas, petrochemical and pharmaceutical audits. Browse the material library to compare metals and fillers, or the industry pages to see the constructions we most often supply into each sector.

How to narrow the choice

Pressure class and flange standard

Class 150 to Class 600 raised-face flanges are normally sealed with a spiral wound gasket to ASME B16.20. From Class 900 upward, and on API 6A ring joint flanges, the correct choice is a Ring Type Joint gasket. The RTJ dimensions guide lists every R, RX and BX ring against its groove.

Process medium and chemical compatibility

The filler decides chemical life. Flexible graphite suits steam and hydrocarbons; PTFE handles acids, caustics and high-purity duty; CNAF covers general utility service. The metal winding matters just as much - move from SS 304 to SS 316 wherever chlorides are present.

Temperature and thermal cycling

PTFE is limited by creep well before its chemical limit, so above roughly 200 °C we move to graphite or a metallic construction. Where the joint is cycled or bolt load is limited, a kammprofile gasket recovers better than a wound element. Heat exchangers usually call for a metal jacketed gasket.

Traceability and plant specification

Every order ships with a Material Test Report so each flange joint can be traced back to a certified heat number. Where a plant specification, a legacy flange size or a drawing governs the part, we manufacture it as a custom engineered gasket rather than substituting the nearest catalogue item.

Still unsure? The flange gasket selection guide walks through the same decision in more detail.
